Been eying up the Regiments ruleset, with an army of dwarves from Highlands Miniatures - great run-down in this video :)

Might pick some of this resin next time. Just got some Sulu Abs-like for my first 3D printer. Would love to see you go through the whole printing process. Would be a great help for beginners such as myself

My biggest concerns are the tub of resin filled water and possible brittleness. Your system you shared of just re using that same water over and over is a good option since obviously the stuff can’t go down the drain but 1 pro of IPA is it can just evaporate away faster if you need to get rid of it. I’ll be curious to hear if the prints are less durable as well

I'm going to pick up some water washable on my next order and give it ago ,nice to see how you got on with it before i give it a try.

I've used water washable resin for a while now as the odour is generally less, it's much easier to clean in case anything goes wrong and I've gotten some really impressive results on my Halot One. However I have found it to be quite brittle and once cured you can't really do much with it. I still use alcohol to clean it though and fully cure any waste material left over - it also evaporates quicker so I'm not chucking any waste water into the water supply. I'm going to test some Nylon/ABS-like resins this week as I'm looking for something a bit more durable/bendy for things like spearmen and more elaborate minis and conversion pieces. I think for more simple or robust minis water washable resin is a solid choice.

I also used sprue to build up a frame so I could magnetise the commander (to switch out between different regiments I play), but I additionally magnetised the shield over the barrel because the way you build it prevents you from using all weapon options.

Sprue is a good idea, i mixed PVA and bluetac and thing set like concrete! I use sprue alot when making “scaffolding” to hold a magnet like along sponsons etc, such a good resource…. Also dobt forget you can melt it down into goo!

even if you are anti-printing miniatures, an FDM printer is so damned useful. Aside from terrain you can print useful tools and practical things for your hobby (Drawer dividers come to mind) and let me tell you, printing off 30-40 bases in an hour is a god send. I resin print miniatures so the amount of times I'm looking for an oddly specific base size *cough* 63.5 *cough* and can print one off in less then an hour is amazing. Movement trays as well are especially nice to print off.

Is it the future... only GW can decide that one. The way they have been going... looks likely. on my gaming club's tables opr has replaced 40k/AOS. Other games have filled the rank n flank void. I was at asoiaf tournament this weekend and just shooting the breeze with locals that are not club remembers to try and gauge where the wider community is and it seems split. Now this was a sample of people in the store and the owners/staff so under 20 people total. But there was almost a 50/50 split on GW vs OPR... GW did win 10 to 7 and add one for OPR if we count me. However game size, army vs skirmish was interesting. Skirmish got 14 votes and army just 3... add my vote to skirmish for me.

Nice just popped the STL pack into my cart. Spent way to much last week on plastic crack and paint. But I'll be getting these. Nice.

Getting into gdf, loved our first game. We're going to do randomly generated 2k armies each game, once we both have all the units to do so

you might also wanna look into Fleshcraft Studios Absolutly lovely stuff and i actually used some of their stuff as FEC proxys in AoS games

Honestly, this is an enrichment to the hobbies for us players. Games Workshop obviously wants us to buy their miniatures, but for these they do not support the range. So it's interesting to see how Tournament Organisers will handle this. if you're not official GW, I'd personally embrace it, as long as it's obvious for your opponent what the models are.

This is the future if this hobby if it's to survive and not go down the route of lead soldiers.

When it comes to games, I'd love it if the war gaming community was just a touch more open-minded when it comes to possibly trying new things. Those who focus exclusively on a single franchise/manufacturer are denying themselves a wealth of model painting opportunities. I have (probably) too many game systems to play regularly. Some are sat in storage, in a parked state because I no longer like the rules, or because the publisher is about to discontinue the system, some are relatively tiny in scope, because my choice of opponents is very limited, while others might get dusted off more frequently. Yes, I have bought into or sampled some things because that's what the community plays, and some I've sampled into because friends have decided they want to try a system. End of the day, I'm buying models I want to paint. If I can use them in a game, awesome! If not *shrugs* I've still had a blast painting them. But, unless something huge changes, I do think I have bought my last Warhammer product. I have what I need for 10th edition Combat Patrol, I have what I need for 3rd edition AoS. I have plenty of Kill Teams.

Of course there`s too many games. Who can keep up with all the new releases? It`s diluting the hobby, and you could say, that "Just buy the core box", yeah who just buys the core box. 🤣😂🤣

Great video pal love dwarfs, was thinking of buying some highland miniatures for my warhammer old world army but if I get some 1 2 print off is it best 2 get em scaled down 2 85% I want them the same size as warhammer dwarfs???

It would be nice to show them on a shelf side by side, Mantic ones, GW ones, Para Bellum ones, and these ones from Max Mini.

I did want to see a side by side with the GW equivalent. . . As the models are split at the hip, maybe you could sculpt the resin torsos onto plastic legs, and plastic torsos on resin legs. . .Two three pack plastic kits and two three pack resign kits for 12 unique giants.

Why could you not use these in warhammer world? Do they check your models? Can't you say they are conversions?

Awesome video! OPR regiments was my first introduction to wargaming, it’s a great system that made me fall in love with rank and flank games.

Liked the video, Subbed, great stuff. Do this all the time, but wear cloves brother. I have had a spill incident with red ink. First thing I thought, 2 seconds to put on gloves. Looking forward to more videos.

I have one. Yes, it does feel cheap. I donthave any charger, only cable..no battery and rechargeable battey. But was 10 bucks. I m testing it
